In this manner, HACCP is referred as the prevention of hazards rather than finished product inspection. The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance

On January 4, 2011, American legislator passed the food safety modernization act (FSMA). This act will change how the food industry producing or exporting thinks, since it allows FDA to regulate the way foods are grown, harvested and manufactured and shift the focus from responsive approach to contamination to preventing it.

GMCS help industries exporting to USA meet FSMA requirement by developing the key aspects of FSMA:

  • A written Hazard Analysis and risk based preventive control plan HARPC by a Preventive control Qualified individual
  • Mandatory produce safety standards
  • Preventing intentional contamination

The Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-based Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation (referred to as the Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation) is intended to ensure safe manufacturing/processing, packing and holding of food products for human consumption in the United States. The regulation requires that certain activities must be completed by a “preventive controls qualified individual”.

For the above reason, GMCS offer PCQI training. This 3-day course, developed by FSPCA, is the “standardized curriculum” recognized by FDA; and is designed and developed to help participants meet these PCQI requirements and achieve compliance. Upon successful completion of this course (all participants will receive an authorized FSPCA “Preventive Controls Qualified Individual” certificate issued by FSPCA.
